Upgrade Your WordPress Site Without Stress

Friday, April 4th, 2008

I have managed to upgrade my blog from WordPress 2.3.3 to WordPress 2.5 without stress. I used an automatic wordpress upgrade plugin. To me this is an important feat accomplished. I am a non-technical blogger, a total newbie to wordpress (less than 30days old)

Since the release of official release of WordPress 2.5, I have been scared to carry out the upgrade (remember I am a newbie 😉 ) I have been going round the web reading posts about how others upgraded from WordPress 2.3.3 to WordPress 2.5

The testimonies of fellow bloggers did not reduce my fear. In fact I got more scared as I read testimonies of people that got their website totally messed up because they failed to do something right. I have messed up my blog once, but then it was very new (so, it was easy to just redo the whole stuff). I cannot afford such at this point. So I told myself, I will upgrade at the end of April.

Earn Money Online From Nigeria Using Affiliate Programs

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Participating in Online Affiliate Marketing Programs can be an extremely lucrative way to earn income as an Entrepreneur. Some online entrepreneurs earn as much as six digit incomes with little or no effort using affiliate marketing programs. Since it is an online business, it means that Nigerian Entrepreneur can actually participate.
However, like any other business idea, you need to understand the workings of the business before expecting profit. Too many online entrepreneur have spent money and time struggling to earn income from affiliate marketing programs without success.
What is affiliate marketing?
It is simply a form of marketing. A company offers a product or service for sale. The company invites you to market the sale of the product or service on their behalf. For each sales you generate, you are rewarded with a percentage of the profit. (That is putting it simply, it could be much more complicated than that. But this simple definition will suffice for now).
Requirements

  1. Registration – You will be required to register with the company promoting the affiliate program. Affiliate Link – When you have successful registered, you will be giving a unique code, this is your affiliate link. It may look something like http://www.affiliate.naijaecash.com/?you.

Earn Income Online By Trading Domain Names

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Buying domain names and selling them for a profit is a good way to earn income online. Domain or website names simply refer to the addresses of websites on the internet. www.naijaecash.com is the Domain or website address for this site you are viewing.
The business of buying and selling domain requires a very small start-up capital. You can start with as low as $10. That means any Nigerian Entreprenuer doing business online can easily add Domain Names Trading to his/her online business portfolio. GoDaddy.com is currently offering domain names at a ridiculous price of $1.99!

See below some domain names that were purchased at less than $10 but sold for tens of thousand dollars.

Google Adsense and Nigerian Online Entrepreneurs

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

I have come across several advertisement placed by fellow Nigerian claiming they can make Nigerians rich through Google Adsense. Some of the adverts go this way

  • Make money online while you sleep ….
  • Many Nigerians are making thousands of dollars from Google Adsense e.t.c

The advertisers promises to perform the magic once their special packages (ready-made “Adsense-ready-blogs”, auto-blogging softwares, e.t.c) are purchased. The price ranges from N5,000 to N10,000 (about $40 – $80).
I get amused and angry when I read such claims. Of course I do a quick check on the website of such advertiser . Too many of them have details similar to the following:

  • Web Address – xyz.blogspot.com (free hosting, while earning thousands of dollars per month, I am skeptical!)
  • Site Traffic – XXX (some make the grave mistake of displaying traffic details on their website – less than 1,000 visitors!)
  • Website Popularity – Google PR – Unranked Alexa Rank – x,xxx, xxx (so where are the visitors clicking on the adsense advert to generate the $x,xxx they claim). They must be telling lies 🙁

Enough of the report, What is Google Adsense? Is it an Income Earning Opportunity for Online Entreprenuers, Nigerians inclusive?
