Are You a Naija Looking for Hot Jobs?
Everywhere you turn, you see lots of unemployed young men and women moving from company to company looking for high-paying jobs in well established businesses. Different companies in Nigeria pays different wages to the same category of professionals. So, it is possible to have an accountant in Company A earning over $5,000 per year while the same professional can only earn a maximum of $1,000 in Company B.

In the language of the unemployed youth, vacancies in Company A will be classified as Hot Jobs, while vacancy in Company B will be classified as “Marking Time” or “Surviving“. Of course there are other terms used to classified jobs, but these are the common ones. You can get a dozen more from Nigerian Forum such as NairaLand, NaijaHotJobs, NigeriaBestForum, NewNigerians etc.
Which companies offer Hot Jobs in Naija?
Often, multinational companies, owned by foreign investors in Nigeria offers the highest pay. Top of the list are Oil and GAs Producing companies such as Shell Petroleum Development Company, Nigerian Agip Oil Company, Chevron, Elf, Total, Addax etc. Next in line are the 3rd generation financial institution in Nigeria.
Appointment in any of the aforementioned is getting a Naija Hot Job! The economic status of the newly employed gets transformed dramatically. Luxury becomes the new lifestyle. Somehow similar to wining the lottery.

While it is everybody’s wish to get such good opportunity, it is foolishness to waste your life hoping and wishing to work only in those places. Those kind of companies employs less than 20% of the Nigerian labor Market. So while wishing for a vacancy in any of them, it is better you get started in those low paying compaines. That will afford you the opportunity of acquiring needed skills and years of experience which may improve your chances of getting employed in the Naija Hot Job zone 😉
Also, the undue pressure that such job attracts from the society has been the ruin of many lives. Those working in such companies are often lured into living a false life of luxury and affluence which they cannot sustain immediately they loose the job or are retired. Only few of the companies have retirement plans for their employees. Most of the financial institutions, especially the banks have nothing in place for retiring employees. These is a major disadvantage.

I highly recommend you starting a small business which you can grow into a financial empire that is capable of offering Hot Jobs! That should be the goal of every young man or woman in Nigeria. If you start your entrepreneurship journey early enough, you should be able to achieve this before you clock fifty years. I know there are hurdles to be overcome, but establishing a business that creates Hot Jobs is better than looking for Naija Hot Jobs. That is my sincere opinion.

There are thousand of one businesses you can venture into and still make success. I really do not need to mention them but take your time and carry out your research and market feasibility studies. Nigeria is still a virgin market that really needs exploitation. I will advise you check NAIJAPOINT and have meaningful discussions with some guys with business mind. That will strengthen one’s mind in taking the risk without letting negativity come in before the positivity.

I’m sorry if you got me wrong. I didn’t intend to post job vacancies on this blog. Maybe in the future as the Nigerian Entrpreneur forum grows we may devote a board for job vacancies. For now the focus is on being self-employed by starting a small scale business.

Beloved don’t let anybody brain-wash you. That you came out with a 3rd class does not mean you won’t make it in life. I have two close friends who came out with 3rd class and both are successful. One is self-employed while the other works in a big establishment.
Ask yourself this simple question. If someone with 3rd class is feeling hopeless, what is a secondary school dropout suppose to do?
The truth is that your success in life is not dependent on your certificate. Put your trust in God and seek for wise counsel. You can make it! 🙂

In order for you to succeed in any business offline or online, there are certain things you must understand. For example, the likelihood of achieving success when you do business that is aligned with your natural passion is high.
Let’s use a practical example: If you hate the smell of fish, you will find it difficult to persuade people to buy fish from your FISH SHOP!

Sometimes I do wonder if the article Naija Hot Jobs has a misleading title. The article has pulled quite a lot of job seekers looking for job vacancies to my blog. It seems some of them don’t even bother to read what I wrote about, they are just desparate to get help in securing a lucrative job. I get emails requesting for help in securing jobs. Some make enquiries about possible job openinings and vacancies.
Many introduce themselves as fresh graduates looking for job vacancies and plead that I help out. Really, I wish I have jobs for these folks, but the truth is, I don’t.
Beside that, I am a stunch beliver in having self employment as a goal. The Nigerian labour market is already saturated. The big corporations are downsizing and releasing workers into the labour market. The crisis in the financial sector has made banking job not so hot anymore. The oil and gas industry is suffering from scarcity of fund to execute projects, so it is really not an ideal time for recruiting. So, it is not the best of time to spend ones life looking for “hot jobs”, “plum jobs” or “dream jobs”.
My humble suggestion to those you employment is that you should not put all your eggs in one basket. While seeking for a plum job, you should also begin to work on starting your own business. That way, you will be rest assured that your days of unemployment is numbered. It is either you land a lucrative job or you become a successful entrepreneur who in turn becomes an employer of labor. Most people believe that without getting a job and work for others it is difficult to live a life of your own but this is absolutely wrong. You can create jobs from little ideas but pride but be buried. A lot are making money fro selling recharge cards as a dealer, bulk sms, e-business, selling laptops, etc. You do no even need any capital to start some of this business. All you have to do is let people know of your service and you will be amazed what responses you will get. A word is enough for the wise.
