Upgrade Your WordPress Site Without Stress

I have managed to upgrade my blog from WordPress 2.3.3 to WordPress 2.5 without stress. I used an automatic wordpress upgrade plugin. To me this is an important feat accomplished. I am a non-technical blogger, a total newbie to wordpress (less than 30days old)

Since the release of official release of WordPress 2.5, I have been scared to carry out the upgrade (remember I am a newbie 😉 ) I have been going round the web reading posts about how others upgraded from WordPress 2.3.3 to WordPress 2.5

The testimonies of fellow bloggers did not reduce my fear. In fact I got more scared as I read testimonies of people that got their website totally messed up because they failed to do something right. I have messed up my blog once, but then it was very new (so, it was easy to just redo the whole stuff). I cannot afford such at this point. So I told myself, I will upgrade at the end of April.

While surfing I came accross articles that commended the improved security built into WordPress 2.5 and recommend immediate upgrading from 2.3.3 to 2.5 That really got at me. Also, whenever I logged into the admin dashboard, I kept on seeing the blinking Warning Sign that I should upgrade.

Well this morning, I came across a post at Weblogtoolscollection After reading the various suggestions by the author and the comments, I decided to try the automatic upgrade plugin recommended by the author. Here is the plugin automatic wordpress upgrade plugin. It was successful and now I have the new WordPress 2.5, the dashboard beautiful 😉

Well that is the story. Everything went smoothly. So far, I have not noticed any problem with my blog. If you are yet to upgrade, go ahead and use the plugin, it works. I wish you success. 🙂
