I have often wondered how many blogs actually exist online (just curious). Some claim there are over 70million (that sounds like a very huge figure). While surfing today, I discovered that I am not alone. Some people have decided to find out how long it will take to get 1,000,000 blogs to list themselves on their site, Million Blog List. That to me is a herculean task.
Well, since it cost me nothing to get listed, I hopped in and listed NaijaEcash, it is number 390. From there I also visited their wiki site Wiki Blog Directory and listed NaijaEcash for free. If you are a newbie looking for traffic, I will suggest you try this out. I am positive that it will do no harm. It might possibly do some good. Remember it is free.

Okay you think it will drive you traffic,ehn? I doubt. Reason is that you probably will never go there again. If one is looking for a blog or directory, most times the search engines will serve better. They will give you the url and some snippets depending on the keyword. I started a blog competition using this idea where I give away links linked to the contestant’s keyword phrase. They also get backlinks when they blog about the contest. The kicker is the BLOG OF FOCUS. That is a section at the top of every new blog entry where the top blogs in the contest list the previous month are highlighted as blogs of focus. That means they appear in EVERY RSS that is sent out from my blog. Also my list is updated monthly and that means every month the directory changes. The other aspect is that google and others seem to value links in blog posts more than in comments like this one. I think you should register for my contest and tell other 9ja bloggers. E go pay!
