6 Requirements For Your Success Online

  1. Belief – You need to belief in yourself that you can do it. So many successful entrepreneurs were people written off as failures by the society. Some of the entrepreneurs making waves in the business world now had more hurdles to combat than you presently have. So be encouraged. (I will suggest you read bibliography of successful men, their testimonies will inspire you to succeed).
  2. Desire – Without a strong desire to succeed, temporary setbacks or hurdles will easily kill your dream.
  3. Goal – You must be able to state clearly, and in explicit terms the end result you’re aiming for. It is best if you write it down using unambiguous words and stating the time frame within which you desire to accomplish the goal.
  4. Plan – Of course you must have a blueprint to guide you in your endeavor. The blueprint should break the long-term goal into several milestones that can be easily worked on in short-terms. For example, the time frame for the Goal is a year, you may need to set monthly targets, weekly targets etc. This will help to keep you on track. You also need the blueprint for performance evaluation. After completing any of the set targets, you need to evaluate the result if it is what you set out to accomplish or less than. (Note, the blueprint need not be a static or rigid one, you should fine-tune it periodically as you acquire more knowledge about your goal).
  5. Passion – If you are not enthusiastic about a goal, it will be a sheer waste, spending your time and resources on it.
  6. Discipline – You have to keep at it until you achieve the set goal. Persistence is often what converts several failed attempt to a huge success story.

    Hi,
You have said some of the key traits that one must have to be successful as an entrepreneur. However, I will like to add that one needs to seek MENTORSHIP. There are some people who have done what you want to do before and are successful. You only need to learn from their mistakes and ride on their wisdom.

One of the easiest ways of doing this is to read books and attend seminars organised by successful people in your chosen business line. Remember, this will place a demand on you and that is where DISCIPLINE, that is already mentioned, comes in.

You also need to get entrepreneurs like you who have burnt the bridges behind them and are ready to go all the way. These are the people that can increase morale when things seem down. There are the people who can help you carry your burden.

    All the best

I quite agree with you. There is no need re-inventing the wheel. Learning from those that have gotten the needed experience is far better than learning from personnal experience. Thanks for visiting and sharing your insight. 😉

  4. These are truly tried and tested tips of remaining successful in any human activity of life be it an online or offline venture. One more thing that is needed is, to build up strategic partnerships that can gravitate concepts, ideas and inspiring links to you in the pursuit of your goal. I call it STRATEGIC NETWORKING of GREAT MINDS. When you link up with right set of people, it has the ability and potential of propelling you to do more, it serves as a yardstick to measure yourself/growth/results/output as well as helping you to weed out every thing that will not contribute to your success.

    Keep up the good work.

I would change the word “Belief” into the word “Faith”. Other than that – you are absolutely right. Thank you for this article, and I will sure continue reading your blog.

You have a point there. Faith is a more appropriate word to use. Like Apostle Paul will say, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Success is not just about the man, divine help is required. Thanks for sharing you view. Cheers.

So glad I came back to revisit this post. All of these traits are vital to online success and it’s good to remind myself of this occasionally to help keep my focus. One thing that I also think is important is to periodically re-evaluate your plan to see what’s working, what has potential, and what is wasting your valuable time. This keeps me on track too – I’ve had to learn how to let go of things that just weren’t working for me.

Another commenter also mentioned mentorship. I’d expand on that a bit to say that mentors are wonderful, but a “formal” one isn’t always necessary. A strong and reliable support system of people is vital, but even more casual connections can be beneficial, if they are well tended to.

  8. point 2 – desire – i feel is one of the strongest drivers .. at least for me.. with the burning, passionate desire in the foundation of everything I do – I am sure success is near
